Play Cafe Assistant

Kidsville Play Cafe is looking for a friendly, outgoing, and dependable person to join our team. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys talking with people, making families feel welcome, and staying busy throughout the day. Our ideal team member is comfortable greeting customers, holding conversations, remembering names, and creating a positive experience for both children and adults.

About the Role

The assistant helps with front desk check-in, register transactions, customer questions, cafe orders, playroom upkeep, party setup, and daily cleaning. This role requires someone who can move between customer service and hands-on tasks with a good attitude. Some moments will be focused on welcoming guests and helping families check in, while other moments will be focused on cleaning toys, wiping tables, organizing the playroom, preparing food and drinks, or getting the space ready for parties.

Customer Service

A big part of this job is helping families feel comfortable and cared for when they visit Kidsville. We are looking for someone who is naturally personable and enjoys interacting with customers throughout their shift.

Greet customers and help families feel welcome.
Check guests in and work the register.
Answer phone calls and customer questions.
Recommend or upsell Kidsville products, food, drinks, and party add-ons when appropriate.

Cafe, Parties, and Daily Tasks

This position also helps with cafe and party support. Duties may change from shift to shift, so the right person should be willing to learn different parts of the business and help wherever needed.

Make espresso drinks.
Cook or prepare food items.
Inflate balloons and help with party details.
Set up tables for parties and events.
Restock supplies and help track inventory.

Cleaning and Organization

Keeping Kidsville clean is an important part of the job. This role is active and requires someone who is comfortable staying on top of cleaning throughout the day.

Maintain a clean and organized playroom.
Vacuum and clean play areas.
Clean and organize toys throughout the shift.
Wipe tables, windows, counters, and high-touch surfaces.
Clean bathrooms and kitchen areas.
Take out trash and keep shared spaces neat and presentable.

Schedule and Pay

This is a part-time position.
Weekend availability is required.
Shifts are Friday through Sunday, with occasional weekdays available.
Pay is $17.13-$19/hour, depending on experience.
